A different summer without Svalbard

The summer of 2020 will be different in so many ways. The COVID-19 pandemic has brought on many challenges and a very different spring to say the least.

Under normal circumstances our three ships would be in Svalbard and the team at the headquarters in Göteborg would be very busy, preparing for exciting and ice-filled adventures in the North.

The season in Svalbard is the core product of PolarQuest. However, this year we have for safety reasons decided to cancel our entire Arctic season. Our busiest time of the year is now a big void in many ways. We are very thankful to have such understanding travellers. We are overwhelmed by all kind words and very happy that so many have decided to rebook or expressed a wish to travel a little bit later on.

Due to the cancelled Svalbard season, we have made changes in our working schedule as well as opening hours:

Updated opening hours

Between 27th June and 2nd Aug our office will be closed. However, we continue to be available Monday – Friday on info@polar-quest.com. We are happy to answer all questions about your upcoming trip or if you wish to make a reservation.

From the 3rd August we are open Monday - Friday, 10 am - 4 pm.

We very much look forward to continue to plan and prepare for great adventures ahead. Many of our Svalbard expeditions in 2021 are already fully booked and we have begun sales of our 2021 Greenland season with the new 12-passenger ship M/S Balto. More exciting Greenland itineraries will be presented in September.

We would like to wish you all a lovely summer (e.i. in the Northern hemisphere) and great home turf explorations! We are enthusiastically looking forward to a normal every day life and the returning appetite for adventure we know is out there.

PolarQuest has cancelled all departures until 1st October 2020.

To all travellers who have asked for a refund: All payments have now been processed by PolarQuest.

Please note: The E-commerce company Nets are having technical delays and it can therefore take some time before the monies appear on the account connected to your card. 

If you have paid by credit card, the reimbursed amount does not always show on your account statement, but on your credit balance.
