Celina Fester Guide

Celina is a certified Arctic Nature Guide based in Longyearbyen. She is at her happiest when she is guiding other travelers either hiking, snowmobiling, out on boats or skiing over Svalbard’s beautiful glaciers. Sharing a great passion for the ocean she is also giving kayak courses on her days off. If you ask her about one of her greatest experiences in nature, she will answer, kayaking in the middle of a small pod of beluga whales in Svalbard.

Celina, who is originally from Bielefeld in Germany, started her career in tourism in 2015, when she moved to Alta, a small town in Northern Norway. In Alta she completed a degree in Arctic adventure tourism, worked for the local tour operators and later received another degree in Arctic outdoor life and nature guiding. Her outdoor experience comes from different parts of the world, stretches from the Arctic to the Antarctic, with places everywhere in between such as British Columbia (Canada), Alaska and Scandinavia. When she is not working she likes to travel, enjoys a good session of outdoor climbing, or likes to join her friends to go sailing. You will see her spending a lot of time scouting for wildlife with her binoculars, because you never know what experience waits for you around the next corner, behind the next iceberg, or below the water surface. Especially whales! Celina loves whales.
