Gerard Baker Guide and Expedition Leader
Gerard Baker is a seasoned polar veteran having spent the past 30 years working in polar environments, including four over winters in Antarctica.
He is a senior polar guide. Gerard was born in UK, where he also studied degrees in Zoology and Botany. He has a master's degree in environmental management. When not guiding in Svalbard or Greenland, Gerard makes documentaries for the BBC on natural history, food and farming and has authored as many as 15 books on a range of subjects from beekeeping to bread.
Gerard is an artist and illustrator who designs postage stamps when he is not on the open ocean. He is a passionate guide who has a huge love for Svalbard's polar history and Greenland's wilderness. He is very happy to be leading our expeditions this Summer.
