Ursula Tscherter Guide

Ursula grew up far away from the oceans in landlocked Switzerland. When her childhood dream to see a whale came true, her life took a turn. For the following 20 years she studied whales, especially the highly fascinating yet poorly known minke whale in Eastern Canada.

Originally a teacher for Art and Craft she also obtained a degree in adult education and a Masters in Marine Mammal Science at the University of St Andrews, Scotland. She loves to guide in the polar regions as she can follow her passions for the outdoors, wildlife observation, and lecturing on marine mammals, animal behaviours, hunting strategies and principles in nature to raise environmental awareness leading to personal actions.

At home, Ursula is an enthusiastic ambassador for nature, animals and conservation and loves to share her knowledge and fascination with children and the public. To spark their enthusiasm far away from the Arctic or Antarctica, she creates life-sized animals.

Join Ursula out on deck as you scout for wildlife and ask all the questions you can think of. This is what she thrives on.
