Flying to Northeast Greenland
Your flight to/from from Constable Point (Nerlerit Inaat) is included in your mandatory flight package and have been booked by PolarQuest. Tickets will be uploaded to "My bookings" closer to departure.
Flights to and from Northeast Greenland operate based on weather conditions and other operational requirements. To and from the airport in Constable Point, flights only arrive and depart once a week (on Thursdays). You will land in the middle of a vast wilderness; there is only a dirt landing strip and only 15 people working here. There are no roads that lead to any civilization. There is one dirt road, approx. 2 kilometres long, leading to the sea, and your expedition vessel. It is not an advanced walk, but make sure you are dressed for expedition. Transportation to/from the ship will most likely be by Zodiacs.
We are operating in an area where we are completely in the hands of the weather. It is not uncommon with flight delays due to for example fog. Therefore, it is very important that you book connecting flights to/from Reykjavik with ample of time in between. Make sure to at least use the hotel night/s included.
Baggage Allowance
One checked bag, max 20 kg is included in all fares, max size (length + width + height) is 158 cm (62 inches) including handles and wheels. Due to limited space on board only minimum hand luggage is allowed (small handbag, camera or similar), max weight 4 kg. (Information from Norlandairs website.)
