A first report from M/S Stockholm
Our guides are blogging from the expedition “The Norwegian fjords, Bear Island & Svalbard with M/S Stockholm.
We have had a really nice trip up along the Norwegian coast. Yesterday we called into Kjerringoy where we enjoyed a very exciting tour. We also fished in Lofoten to provision for our ride over to Svalbard and caught some catfish! Today we are in Tromsø and have paid a visit to the Polar Museum, where we got to learn more about the brave explorers. We have also visited the beautiful Ishavskyrkan (Arctic Sea Church). We are now ready to loosen the ropes and head north!
Since 1999, we have taken travellers on once-in-a-lifetime trips to Svalbard. From May to September our three small expedition ships, carrying only 12 and 53 passengers, explore this magnificent Arctic archipelago. Unpredictability and flexibility are the main keywords when you travel with PolarQuest as the exact route depends on weather, ice conditions and wildlife encounters. Sometimes you might be woken up in the middle of the night if a polar bear has been spotted on the ice.
