Monday 1st August - Delger river
The rays of the sun reached our camp just as it was time for breakfast under the sky. Our group was divided in two, and one half went on a hike and the other half went rafting down the river.
In the afternoon we converged at our camp site, where we enjoyed a demonstration on how rapid and skilled Mongolians are at putting together a ger tent. In only five minutes they demounted the ger, and then they put it up again in just half an hour.
For dinner we had traditionally prepared mutton. Rocks, which were heated over the fire, were put in a pressure cooker together with the meat, vegetables, salt and some onion. After 1.5 hours our dish was ready to be served.
Tuesday 2nd August - Delger river
It rained during night, but it decreased in time for breakfast. Today the two groups switched activities, one group hiked and the other one rafted.
After the exciting outings we all gathered for a Jeep excursion. We stopped by an bearded vulture nest to have a look at two vulture and their young, and then continued to a nomad family. In their ger we were invited to try traditional milk tea, dried yoghurt and homemade butter. We also got to join them as they milked their goats and caught horses with lasso.
