Thérèse is Swiss and grew up close to the Alps where she spent most of her time and her interest in nature awakened. She has a master’s degree in Media and Communication, but her life changed direction when she in 2010 visited Svalbard for the first time and was caught by the notorious “polar bug”. Already the next summer she returned to Svalbard and started to work as a trekking guide - meaning spending three months in a tent.
In 2012, she left Switzerland and moved to Longyearbyen to become a fulltime Arctic nature guide. Since then, she works all-year-round as expedition leader, lecturer, kayak guide and Zodiac driver on expedition ships in the Arctic and in Antarctica.
Thérèse, who lives in Switzerland today, has learned Swedish and speaks it fluently, as well as English and German. She always has a smile on her face and loves to share her knowledge about the flora and fauna as well as her passion for the stunning polar regions with you.
