Pre-and post arrangement: Expedition Antarctica

Dear PolarQuest traveller,

Here you will find information about the additional arrangements we offer in connection with our trip Expedition Antarctica – The Great Penguin Adventure, 28 October – 17 November 2026. 

The programme begins when you check in at the Hotel Madero in Buenos Aires. Please note that you will need to book your own international flights to and from Buenos Aires.

The programme is as follows:

27 October: History and Culture
You will check in at the centrally located Hotel Madero in the morning. After dropping off your luggage and perhaps enjoying breakfast or a coffee, you will head out on a sightseeing tour.

We will be picked up by bus at the hotel and embark on an exciting tour of the city, including a visit to Corbeta Uruguay, the ship that rescued Otto Nordenskjöld’s Antarctic expedition in 1903. We will also visit La Recoleta Cemetery, where Eva Perón is buried.

Afterwards, we will have lunch together before checking into our rooms and having some time to relax. In the evening, we will gather again for our first dinner together, a great opportunity to get to know one another and start the trip.

28 October – Towards the End of the World
After breakfast, you will have some free time. Perhaps you would like to visit Café Tortoni, the city’s oldest café, or take a stroll along the boulevards or in a nearby park.

In the afternoon, we will fly to Ushuaia, the southernmost city in the world. Upon arrival, we will be transferred to the centrally located Hotel Albatros, which offers magnificent views of the Beagle Channel.

Although we may be tired after the day’s journey, it is exciting to know that the expedition we have all been waiting for begins tomorrow.

17 November – Back to civilisation!
After our unforgettable Antarctic adventure, we will return to Ushuaia aboard the expedition ship Ocean Nova. There will be some free time in Ushuaia before we fly back to Buenos Aires. Upon arrival, we will once again check in at Hotel Madero.

In the evening, we will gather for a farewell dinner to share memories and reflections from our journey.

18 November – Journey Home
After enjoying a long breakfast — and perhaps taking a final stroll to buy a souvenir — the programme will come to an end. It will be time to say goodbye to our new friends and go our separate ways.
