The very first evening of the very first expedition in Northern Norway on the MS Stockholm, we headed out from Alta and spent the evening at a pier of a little village called Store Kvalfjord.
After dinner we headed outside for a stroll into darkness, but before getting very far the Northern Lights decided to make an appearance.
Slowly but surely, lines of green and red laced the clear sky above the ship as we photographed. And then directly above us, the skies burst alight. A corona opened up, a most welcome corona as opposed to some more unwelcome strains of uncertain origin. Greens, reds, and pinks waved down upon us as we stared up at the wonder of nature.
A great start to our first expedition of the season.
